Manderley has some very exciting news
to share with you.

After more than 36 years of ownership, The Ferne Family, including Don, Ernie and Jill Ferne, have sold Manderley on the Green Golf Course to Groupe Fortin.

"We are extremely excited to be passing on Manderley to someone we know has the passion for golf and has the desire to make Manderley a special place for all golfers to enjoy," says Don.

The Ferne family teamed up to buy the golf course in 1983. "While our primary focus has always been golf, it certainly has not been our primary purpose. It's all about the relationships we've been able to form over the years with people in the community. Golf is a people business," says Ernie.

Over the years, the golfing community has proven to be very generous and there has always been a passion at Manderley to serve others. In cooperation with local merchants, sponsors, community, and golfers, we have been able to nourish family connections and community ties through the sport of golf.

"It's wonderful to hear people say they feel like family when they come out to Manderley. It has always been our aim to create a family atmosphere," says Jill.

And so we would like to thank all past and current staff members, of which many have dedicated years of service to Manderley. Another large thank you to our loyal golf and league members, who have been so supportive over the years.

Looking forward to the 2019 season, there will be some familiar faces at Manderley. Andrew Robertson, PGA of Canada member, will assume the position of General Manager at Manderley. Jillian Ferne will assume the position of Food & Beverage Manager.

"We are very excited for the future at Manderley, and look forward to working closely with the entire Groupe Fortin Team. We will strive to provide the best possible experience for all golfers and visitors of the course. I am grateful for everything that the Ferne Family has done for myself, the golf course and the entire community, and I look forward to continuing these efforts with Groupe Fortin," says Andrew.

Groupe Fortin, led by Pierre-Hugues Fortin, currently own both Mont-Cascades and Tecumseh Golf Clubs. Groupe Fortin is very excited about this opportunity, having purchased a golf course with a rich history and a devoted group of golfers. The golf course will continue to operate as a 27-hole facility offering memberships, golf leagues, daily play, tournament services, and banquet facilities.

With Manderley having joined this group of fantastic courses in the Ottawa-Gatineau area, this will provide some exciting playing opportunities for members and golfers of all courses involved.

Groupe Fortin will be at the 2019 Ottawa-Gatineau Golf Expo, taking place March 8-9th at the EY Centre, and will have more exciting information to share about the upcoming season with you all then.

Manderley and the golfing community will always hold a memorable place in our lives, and we Thank You all for 36 great years.
